'Twilight' star gets clipped by cab in NYC

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattison is now officially a New Yorker - he's been clipped by a yellow cab.

The London-born Pattinson, in town making the drama "Remember Me," apparently was hit around noon outside the Strand Bookstore near Union Square trying to escape tween-age fans.

The actor did not appear injured and walked away from the accident. The cab driver stopped upon realizing he'd made contact.

According to Radar Online, which first reported the incident, a security guard yelled at fans crowding Pattinson: "You see what you did, you almost killed him!"

But a spokeswoman for Summit Entertainment, the film production company, later downplayed the affair, saying: "Rob is fine. The reports are exaggerated, and it was not caused by fans."

Twilight The Video Game is a game that will based very closely to the events in the book and the movie. The game will feature both single player and multiplayer game play. The single player campaign will be designed to initially allow players to experience story events from either Bella’s or Edwards’s perspective. Bella’s perspective will be adapted to be very close to both the Twilight book and movie. Edward’s perspective will be adapted according to the storytelling as presented in the unfinished version of Midnight Sun. Both perspectives will be monitored, and reviewed by Stephenie Meyer to ensure the highest quality possible in terms of storytelling.

MTV's Hollywood Crush has a new article up where Jackson Rathbone talks about a possibility of his band, 100 Monkeys, being on the New Moon soundtrack! Check it out here.

Amidst the hundreds of screaming fans, it was impossible to even spot the film star.

British actor Robert Pattinson was lost in the crowd as he tried to leave his trailer yesterday.

The crew of his new film linked arms to protect him after a solitary police officer was overwhelmed as fans young and old mobbed the Twilight star.

Luckily, some burly security guards were on hand to escort the 23-year-old Londoner safely through the sea of young women - and men - to his film set.

The actor then smiled with relief as he grabbed a cigarette and a coffee and tried to calm down.

Former child model Pattinson's first role was as tragic Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter series - which also launched the careers of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

He is currently filming Remember Me - but is better known for his role as 108-year-old vampire Edward Cullen in the film Twilight.

It has thrust him into the spotlight and with three films left in the series - New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Down - his fame seems unlikely to diminish.

Pattinson says he finds his new life 'bizarre' and is still adjusting to his high profile.

Demi Lovato Wishing For "New Moon" Soundtrack

As a fan of Twilight, Demi Lovato would jump at the chance to be on the "New Moon" soundtrack. Her name has been rumored — along with Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini to be on the soundtrack-consideration list.Lovato says that for now, at least, it doesn't seem likely that her music will be featured in the film. "That [rumor], like, blew up. It is funny," she told MTV News on the set of her new video, "Here We Go Again." Admittedly, MTV News may have been the ones to plant the "New Moon" seed when they suggested her name back in February. "Someone asked me and I said that would be cool," she explained. "There's no plans for that, so we can clear that up — but it would be a complete honor." Lovato is looking forward to watching "New Moon" when it comes out later this year. "I'm dying to see the movie," the teen admitted. And she's already decided who she would like to write a love song for if she is asked to be on the soundtrack. "Edward Cullen — I would write a love song to him," the singer/actress said, before giddily adding, "Or Jacob Black!"

A Coldplay fan asked the "Oracle" on Coldplay's official site this question:

I heard a rumor that The Scientist by Coldplay (obviously) was going to be on the New Moon soundtrack. Is this true?

And the response?

It's very likely that a Coldplay song will end up on the soundtrack to the Twilight sequel given that Stephenie Meyer has credited Coldplay, amongst others, on the inner sleeve for "being instrumental in staving off the writer's block".

Robert Pattinson will have new blood in Twilight movie Eclipse

Three actors stand on the cusp of joining Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart squeal-filled future, one where they will forever be known as those dudes who were in that movie about uptight vampire boyfriends.

Yes, the third instalment of the Twilight franchise, Eclipse, is casting, E! News reports. And before the sparkle can fade from the just-released New Moon trailer, casting agents are on the prowl for three major roles.

First up is the brother/sister werewolf duo of Seth and Leah Clearwater.

According to E!'s insider, the production is looking for First Nations actors to fill both roles.

Also up for grabs is the part of Riley, "a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria."

Filming on Eclipse is scheduled to begin in Vancouver in a few months time.

New Moon, the first Twilight sequel, is due in theatres this November.

And by in costume, we really mean shirtless. ''It's not pleasant for the actors,'' director Chris Weitz acknowledged to the newspaper from the Vancouver, B.C. set. ''But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.

One of director Weitz's creative challenges is Edward's long absence in the novel: ''Rob was the first guy to say to me, 'You know, you don't really need to have too much of me in this film.' I don't want him too present, so his apparition will be a subtle, flitting effect — clearly a reflection of Bella's will and desire to see him.''

He confirmed at the Cannes Film Festival that the fourth Twilight instalment would be based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel, Breaking Dawn. He also revealed that he was currently in the final days of shooting the second instalment, New Moon, in Italy. The actor said that he would soon begin filming third flick Twilight: Eclipse. American Idol alums Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini are Twilight fans - or so it would seem from recent public comments.

Guarini recently posted a public plea on YouTube for producers of the Twilight series to use one of his songs in the upcoming soundtrack for New Moon in recent months

And earlier in the year, on her 'I Am Kelly' blog, Clarkson wrote about her family members being addicted to the books and film.

"I’m now on ‘Eclipse’ of the Twilight series and so is my mom, my sister and all of my friends," Clarkson wrote. "You could say we’re a bit addicted and all searching for our very own personal ‘Edward’... ....

Twilight star Robert Pattinson, currently adding to his repertoire in Vancouver, shooting New Moon, and antipodean swashbuckler Hugh Jackman are teaming to make a 19-th century epic called Captives Unbound.

The Brit-Aussie duo will release enough female drool to fill a bucket brigade. The flick will also star Rachel Weisz as a widow who falls in the good care of macho mountain man Jackman. Pattinson will be her eldest child, so can we expect some Oedipal sparks to fly between the two sexy heroes?

But what's this? The plot features the kidnapping of the frontier lass's children. Maybe Jackman and Pattinson team to defeat evil plains pirates. Twi-hards and X-women can hardly wait to check out this adventure.

The movie will be directed and written by Madeline Stowe, who is used to Hollywood glamour, having appeared in Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day-Lewis. Stowe herself was picked by Empire magazine as one of the 100 sexiest stars in cinematic history.

To round out the hunkfest with a little history, Russell Crowe offered Stowe a cool $5 million for the rights to her Captives Unbound script in 1993, but she kept her creative fist tightly wrapped on the property.

Now that she's got two of the hottest stars on the planet hitched to her movie, Stowe can bet she'll recoup those fleeting millions and more on opening night.

Twilight Sequel Script Found In Trash

A St. Louis beauty salon owner accidentally happened upon one of the hottest Hollywood scripts — the pages from an upcoming "Twilight" sequel — in a trash bin.
Casey Ray found two scripts, one for the vampire sequel "New Moon" and one for a different movie titled "Memoirs." She decided to return them to the studio making the films. In return, she was invited to attend the movies' premieres, her lawyer said.
Ray recently was waiting for her fiance to finish work when she spotted two scripts in a trash container. She was outside a hotel where actors were staying during a St. Louis shoot for the upcoming George Clooney movie, "Up in the Air."
It's not clear how the scripts wound up in the bin.
The Clooney movie includes actress Anna Kendrick, who is also in the "Twilight" vampire movie. A spokeswoman for Kendrick, Lisa Perkins, said the actress wouldn't have left scripts lying around.
When Ray found the scripts, she considered leaking them to a national tabloid but decided against it, said her lawyer, Al Watkins.
"My client didn't really want to get paid," he said, but she was interested in hanging onto the scripts as collector's items.
Watkins helped her return them to Los Angeles-based Summit Entertainment LLC, the studio making the movies. He said the studio invited Ray to premieres for the two films, and will certify the scripts as authentic after the movies are released.
"Summit doesn't comment on any of the deals it does," Summit spokesman Paul Pflug said. But he added, "We thank Ms. Ray for doing the right thing."
The "Twilight" movies are based on the novels of Stephenie Meyer, so many of the plot turns are well known to readers. But keeping the "New Moon" script written by Melissa Rosenberg out of the public eye preserves which elements of the book will be included in the films, Pflug noted.
Last year's original "Twilight" film grossed over $350 million worldwide.

96.7 KISS FM, a radio station in Texas, is reporting that the full length trailer for 'New Moon', or "Twilight 2" as they call it, will be at the beginning of the movie 'Band Slam'. This has NOT been confirmed by Summit, but it seems possible given that 'Band Slam' doesn't get released until August, and is being distributed by Summit.

But production on the second film has reportedly been halted following claims Meyer is facing legal action from her former college roommate, who is said to have accused the writer of basing the books on her ideas.
According to I'mnotobsessed.com, Heidi Stanton - who studied alongside Meyer at Brigham Young University, Utah - claims the vampire books are similar to a short story she wrote when she was a student there.
Stanton filed her lawsuit against Meyer in Utah last Tuesday, alleging idea infringement.
She states in the papers, "Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together."
Meyer claims the premise for the popular series came to her in a dream in 2003 and she completed the first novel three months later.
And the legal battle has reportedly cast doubt on the highly-anticipated New Moon, with production being "put on hold" until the case is resolved, according to the website.
New Moon is scheduled for release at the end of the year.

When asked about Pattinson’s rumored crush on co-star Stewart, Greene replies, “I think he’s loving being single. He’s pretty much one of the most eligible bachelors out there right now. So if he was sad before [about Kristen], I think that he’s all right now.”

David Slade apologizes for ‘Twilight’ remarks

Director David Slade is now howling his regrets to the “Twilight” fans.
Slade, the slated director of the franchise’s third film, “Eclipse,” sent an e-mail to Twilight Lexicon, one of the largest “Twilight” fan Web sites, after it was revealed on Sunday that he had made disparaging comments about the vampire franchise.
“When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart,” Slade explained.

“Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.”
On Sunday, /Film.com revealed an archived audio clip of Slade from the BDK movie show on WJFK in Washington DC, where he attacked “Twilight.”
When talking about what movie he was going to see, he took aim at the popular vampire franchise.
“‘Twilight’ drunk? No, not even drunk. ‘Twilight’ on acid? No, not even on acid? ‘Twilight’ at gun point? Just shoot me.”
It has also been reported that Slade wrote a negative comment about the franchise on his Twitter account, which has since been deleted.
In his note today, Slade sought to appease the die-hard fan base.
“I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.”
Actor Kellan Lutz, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen in the series, voiced his support of Slade when Access Hollywood caught up with Lutz on Monday night.

“I really don’t get in that dirt, if he didn’t see it and if he didn’t like it, it doesn’t mean he’s not talented,” Lutz told Access.
“I still think he’ll bring a great vision to ‘Eclipse,’” Kellan said.

Teen vampire movie Twilight led the MTV movie award nominations announced on Monday with seven nods, just ahead of Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, which earned six nominations.

In an online poll, Twilight earned nods for best movie, best female performance (Kristen Stewart) and breakthrough performance male (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner). Slumdog Millionaire garnered six nominations, including best movie, breakthrough performance female (Freida Pinto) and breakthrough performance male (Dev Patel).

The awards will take place on May 31 in Los Angeles and fans can vote for their favourites at the MTV Movies Awards site.

Joining Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire in the best movie category are The Dark Knight, High School Musical 3 and Iron Man. The other actors vying in the breakthrough performance male category are Ben Barnes for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Prince of Caspian and Bobb'e J Thompson for Role Models. Other breakthrough performance female selections are Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens(HSM 3) and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie).

I know I have told both co-webbie's, but I have been having TONS of medical problems ending with a pretty bad ear infections,so bad I can't hear out of that ear completely, and upper respitory infection. I can't believe it but...............Did you hear that Stephanie Meyers wrote a continuation to Breaking Dawn called "The White Night" The story begins with Edward making a run to the store late at night buying milk for baby Renesme. When he passes by an ally he hears a girl scream and remembers his past of helping victims in dark allys. So he helps the girl and as it happens the criminal stabs Edward injecting some antidote. The Next day Edward wakes up to find that the sun no longer makes him sparkle. He tries to run back home but ends up having to take the bus. He tells Carlisle what happened and he starts to run some tests on him. Edward is now HUMAN!!! Which means that there is a cure. The man who had injected him is actually a vampire hunter who wants to turn the vampires into humans, Edward was set up, the girl was a decoy. Bella gets really sad and wishes she was human instead and Rosalie starts flipping out going in search for the cure. Where will this story continue??? Only Stephenie Meyer knows...to be continued... P.S. I hope that there isn't a cure! Then the story can continue for a long time!!

I 'heard' from little bird that, in fact, Summit Ent. had to cut its budget due to the recession, and the characters of Carlisle, Esme, and Sam were all deemed 'unnecessary' and will no longer appear in New Moon to save money while paying actors and actresses. Summit Ent. ALSO didn't have money for a proper screenplay, and they appealed to a group of fans, who, on a volunteer basis, work to select plots from their favorite Twilight fanfictions and fan-made videos to create a patch-work plot for the movie. Don't be surprised if Jasper seems extra emo or Edward ends up having a battle to the death with Harry Potter.

Robert Pattinson is in Vancouver gearing up for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the blood-sucking sequel to Catherine Hardwicke's wildly successful teen-vampire-romance movie, "Twilight." And like love the second time around, it's not the same.
"It's strange because it already feels much more of a slick machine," Pattinson says of the film, which is being directed by Chris Weitz. "The first one we had such a young cast. Everybody was friends. It was fun. There was nothing like what it is now. Now there are people waiting outside the hotels all the time. We have security. It's crazy."
And Pattinson hasn't even started yet. He's been in Vancouver for three weeks pacing up and down his hotel room while the shoot has been under way because "I like to get some kind of momentum going in my own process, so when I actually turn up on the set I should know vaguely what I'm talking about."
Pattinson, whose almost ethereal beauty has been a key part of "Twilight's" success, is nothing if not self-deprecating. He delivers his thoughts in a stuttering, half-finished manner distantly related to another British heartthrob, Hugh Grant. He also seems to share Grant's well-known discomfort with attention. In fact, the only respite from all the screaming women recently has been movie sets.
"I feel like most of the time for the past few months I'm pretty much working every time I get out of the house, working or not, so I might as well be working," he says. "I'm always in work mode. Just in case someone comes up to you, you've got to have your game face on."
Probably none of this will change with the release of his newest film, Paul Morrison's "Little Ashes" - if for no other reason than few of his fans will see it. Shot before "Twilight" made Pattinson a tousle-haired poster boy, the film, set primarily in the 1920s, is about the relationship between Spanish poet-playwright Frederico Garcia Lorca (Javier Beltran) and Surrealist gadfly Salvador Dali (Pattinson). What begins as a mutual admiration society of up-and-coming artists becomes much, much more. Speculation has it that Lorca and Dali were, or almost became, lovers. The film goes there, to a degree that made Pattinson very uncomfortable until he actually saw it.
"I guess I was expecting things to be more graphic," Pattinson says. "There's so much shame involved, and the thing I was really worried about was trying to show the madness of it."
In fact, the only aspect of the film that seems to trouble him now is the not-at-all convincing aging of Dali to 30 or so. Pattinson was 21 when he made the film, and he looks it. Ironically, he faces the opposite problem with the "Twilight" series. His character, Edward, never ages, so he has to look like an undead teenager through the three sequels he's contractually obligated to appear in.
"I think all of them will be done within a year and half," he says. "The whole thing is about change and aging. So it would look ridiculous if I'm playing 17 when I look 35."
Which is another way of saying that Pattinson is unconcerned about being locked into author Stephenie Meyer's franchise in the same way that the Harry Potter cast has been in theirs. It won't last that long.
Then it will be interesting to see in which direction Pattinson decides to go. No doubt his fans would prefer him to continue looking good, but he appears to have other ideas. He talks about one part he's considering in which he speaks a foreign language he doesn't know and another in which he plays "an incredibly abusive, terrifying character." He certainly seems to like playing characters who are tormented, or at least struggling with who they are.
"I try to choose things which are something that I'm going through in my life," he says. "Jobs that will help me realize or add something about myself. I don't really think about it in terms of a career."

ROBERT PATTINSON has become a central part of the appeal of the Twilight film series adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels.
But the 22-year-old British star nearly gave up acting and switched to a career in music, it's been reported.
Director Oliver Irving, who worked with Pattinson in the film How To Be, told People: "He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role [in How To Be] came along. He wanted to play the roles he wasn't getting."
After Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, in which Pattinson played Cedric Diggory, the actor was looking for something more challenging, says Irving.
Irving says he isn't surprised that Pattinson's star has risen since the Twilight film: "He has a playfulness and naivety that he was able to inject into the character. He's very down to earth and unpretentious. I think that's probably what makes him appealing."
It's now hard to imagine the whole Twilight phenomenon without Pattinson but interesting to ponder on how it might have turned out with a different actor playing vampire Edward Cullen.

By now, anybody with a pulse and a bookshelf knows that the “Twilight” movie was a big hit, and that sequels “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and most likely “Breaking Dawn” will be following it in the years to come. But even the biggest Twilighters might not be aware of one additional, secret “Twilight” flick that could be coming to a theater near you, courtesy of a few of the film’s stars.
“My brother goes to UCLA, and he’s making a documentary right now called ‘The Glorification of Celebrities’,” revealed Nikki Reed when we spoke with her a little while ago, explaining a small film that will feature herself, Kristen Stewart and other young stars commenting on the newfound power and pressure bestowed on them practically overnight. “’Twilight’ will play a role in it, but it is just about [exploring]: What is the definition of being a celebrity now?
Walk up to any supermarket checkout these days and you’ll be inundated with tabloid headlines screaming about what RPattz is up to, who Nikki is dating, or what outrageous quote KStew supposedly let slip. But as they’ve gone from relative unknowns to magazine-selling celebs, Reed’s brother Nathan has been chronicling the rise of the “Twilight” phenomenon with his camera.
“I think fans with be able to see this,” she said of the flick, which the Reeds expect to graduate beyond the little-seen world of student films. “I am trying to be as involved as I possibly can. I think ‘Twilight’ was a wonderful thing for him to use [in the film], because it escalated quite quickly. It went from being this little tiny book series that none of the actors really knew anything about to this explosion that happened somewhere around the summer [of 2008]; I started walking outside and people started yelling ‘Rosalie!’”
“My brother has been following that,” she explained. “And it’s great because I know Kristen [Stewart] and he gets to speak with her. And he has a reason to travel with me now.”
A fortunate side-effect from the experience, Reed explained, was that it has brought the two siblings closer together. “We realize now, as we get older, that he really didn’t understand me and I didn’t understand him,” she explained. “I moved out when I was fourteen, and it’s a long story - but he is doing wonderful things with his life.”
“He has been interviewing a lot of fans as well,” she said of “Glorification,” which will focus not only on “Twilight” stars, but also on what fame does to other overnight sensations in Hollywood. “There is a Nikki Reed’s Mafia group [that will be in the doc] - and if you guys are watching, thanks. Because they show up everywhere with signs.”

Twilight star Robert Pattinson is finding overnight celebrity a bit surreal. "It's a weird experience, and you do tend to start getting a little bit paranoid," says Rob, 22, "Looking around when you're walking down the street, in case you get mobbed by teenage girls!"
With the release of his indie flick, Little Ashes, which he was playing famous artist Salvador Dali. The film explores some pretty heavy themes including Dali’s love affair with Federico Garcia Lorca.
Rob has a nude, homosexual sex scene in the biopic. "I thought I'd never get another acting job again," Pattinson continued. "So I was like, 'Yeah - why not try to do something weird?' There's all these gay-sex scenes. And, you know, I haven't even done a sex scene with a girl in my whole career."Pattinson said it wasn't so much having to play gay that was hard, but having an audience there for it. "Here I am, with Javier [Beltrán], who plays [Federico Garcí] Lorca, doing an extremely hard-core sex scene, where I have a nervous breakdown afterward," he said. "And because we're both straight, what we were doing seemed kind of ridiculous. ... And it wasn't even a closed set. There were all these Spanish electricians giggling to themselves."
Talking about movies is one thing for Pattinson, but for the guy who nearly had a panic attack at the Twilight premiere, talking about himself in interviews isn't easy.
"The only way to establish any kind of mystique is to completely shut up and never talk to anyone," he said. "And I'm contractually obligated not to shut up.
Meanwhile, Rob is currently in Vancouver filming New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. The single Pattinson has been romantically linked to his co-stars Nikki Reed, 20, and Kristen Stewart, 19, as well as to starlets Camilla Belle, Megan Fox and Natalie Portman.

'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson has denied that he is dating Kristen Stewart. The British actor, speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', said: "It becomes a joke. There was some magazine the other day about me and Kristen and when you look at it and realise it's on the front of a magazine. You realise that people are actually reading that even though how ridiculous it is. It's really bizarre." The young star also said that he felt the attention he receives could put prospective partners off him: "I'm always really worried about ruining their lives, especially with people that aren't famous. It's such a massive change."

Tyson Houseman as Quil Ateara

Where you’ve seen him: In low-key theater productions, mostly.
In New Moon: Quil, one of Jacob’s best friends, is the last to learn of his wolf heritage. He imprints on Emily’s two-year-old niece, Claire. But it’s not creepy. At all.
Verdict: He looks mischievous and friendly, though we’re not sure he’s tall enough. Ah well, small details.
Cameron Bright as Alec

Where you’ve seen him: In X-Men: The Last Stand, an episode of The 4400, and as Adam in An American Affair.

In New Moon: Alec is Jane’s twin and can control people’s senses. Stay well away from him if you don’t want to suddenly find yourself blind, deaf, or missing the sense of smell.
Verdict: Young enough for the role, with all the right looks for Alec. With a little makeup and styling, Bright and Fanning could easily pass for evil twins.

EOnline spoke with Melissa Rosenberg at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival, and she has a personal pick for Riley in 'Eclipse'....

"There’s a very big battle at the end with Riley, and I think Channing would do that so well,” ...And there are some complexities to that character," she adds. "He really is tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria [bad-girl vampire played by Rachelle Lefevre]. So he has to break your heart a little bit at the end when he realizes that she doesn’t want him. Channing could do that beautifully.”
